The morning before we shoot a wedding we get super nervous and super pumped. Its the same feeling we imagine a pro football player feels right before a big game…okay okay maybe a little league player right before their first tee ball game but you get the analogy. By now we are already pretty good friends with the bride and groom, we have a very very good idea of what shots we want to take, and we have an established game plan for how we want to capture the day. Brittany and Ben’s wedding was no exception – except this time we were in Tahoe and we were slightly chillier then normal. In fact, I think we can technically call this our first destination wedding, right? We know it is stretching the term “destination wedding” just a little bit but you cant blame us for trying.
There was one MAJOR difference however with this wedding then any of the others we have photographed – Ben and Brittany. Ben is the funniest, wackiest, and silliest groom we have ever photographed. Hands down he is just flat out FUN! Just wait till you see some of the dance pictures from the reception… classic! P.s… those will be in the second installment of this blog post Ben + Brittany: Ceremony & Reception. Brittany on the other hand has an air of calmness and serenity about her. Its hard to not adore her. She never once got stressed or overwhelmed by the day that was unfolding. Instead she seemed content in enjoying this momentous occasion and being surrounded by some of her favorite people. When you get Ben and Brit together there is this glow that envelopes them and it becomes clear that their love is “the master key that opens the gates of happiness” – Oliver Homes.
